Victoria University – Footscray Park Campus Façade Remediation Works

Victoria University – Footscray Park Campus Façade Remediation Works

May 13, 2026

RCW Group was engaged by the Victoria University Capital Projects Department to undertake a detailed technical assessment and reporting process for façade remediation works to Buildings E and G at the Footscray Park Campus. The inspections were completed using boom lift and ladder access under carefully coordinated out-of-hours arrangements to minimise disruption to university operations.

Following completion of the technical investigations, RCW Group was subsequently approved to deliver the remediation works, including the design, installation, and operation of all temporary access systems required for the project. This included the use of scissor lifts, boom lifts, modular scaffolding, and tube-and-coupler scaffolding systems. Geotechnical investigations were also undertaken to verify ground conditions and support the engineering assumptions associated with the temporary works designs.

The remediation works included:

Building E: Concrete cancer remediation involving the removal and replacement of deteriorated structural concrete elements.

  • Building G: Rust remediation works to steel shade awnings, including replacement of steel ties and anchors, surface preparation, and protective repainting.

The project highlighted RCW Group’s capability in delivering technically complex façade remediation works in live educational environments, with a strong focus on safety, access engineering, and long-term asset durability.

This project was another example of RCW group showcasing both its engineering and design ability along with its contracting capacity.
