RCW Strengthens Mornington Village Slab for New Aldi with Carbon Fibre Technology
RCW has been awarded the suspended slab strengthening contract for the Mornington Village shopping centre to accommodate the proposed new Aldi tenancy. Due to a compressed programme required for shop opening, RCW was engaged via an ECI model (Early Contractor Involvement) to enable timely procurement and commencement on site prior to main contractor award.
Approximately 4600 lineal metres of carbon fire laminate plate will be adhered to the existing concrete floor enabling the load capacity to be increased by 30%. The carbon fibre laminate is being flown out from Germany with the assistance of our supply partners Strong-Tie who provided invaluable assistance with our tender submission.
RCW has mobilised their fleet of Floorex grinders and scarifiers enabling concrete floor substrate preparation prior to the application of carbon fibre.
